Embrace the New Year: Fresh Start Recipes

As we wave goodbye to 2014, we welcome 2015 with lots of excitement. We had an amazing year and have been truly inspired by seeing all of your posts and photos. This year, our New Year’s resolution is to get more people in the kitchen. And to start it off, we’re offering some "fresh start" recipes just in case, like us, you had one too many slices of pie over the holidays.

We have a slew of new recipes from gluten-free, to vegan, paleo, and all around healthier recipes. While we can’t say we’re giving up the fudge, cakes, savory tarts and cookies, we are looking forward to baking and enjoying some of our lighter options this month.

Click on the “FRESH START” tab on the Drop Kitchen app to find these. Here’s what you can look forward to this month:

1. Raw chocolate fudge brownies

Who doesn’t love a bit of brownie after a long day? Our raw chocolate fudge brownies give you all of the flavor impact of chocolate fudge brownies, but since they’re made with raw chocolate, you’ll get the health benefits as well. Studies have shown that raw chocolate is packed full of antioxidants to keep your body healthy, so you can indulge in a sweet treat while giving your body an extra boost. Plus they are gluten-free, vegan and free from refined sugars too.

2. Fruit & Nut Bars

Not only are they packed with protein, they are gluten-free and paleo. Filled with nutritious seeds, chia, nuts and fruits, they are particularly good for breakfast and sturdy enough to keep your body going all day long, and without the guilt!

3. Sundried tomato kale chips

Who doesn't love superfoods? Our sundried tomato kale chips are the best way to do it. While they are expensive at the supermarket, they are cost-effective when you make them at home. They are a healthy alternative to other fried and salty snacks. Plus, they are so easy to make!

4.Guilt-free sticky toffee pudding

An elegant dessert, our guilt-free sticky toffee pudding is perfect for accompanying your after dinner cup of coffee. Without the excess sugar and fat, you can feel good about indulging.

5. Everything-free cookies

These everything-free cookies may be “everything-free”, but that everything certainly doesn’t include flavor. It’s a cookie for everyone! Free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar, but packed full of tasty almonds, coconut and cacao nibs. Go ahead, eat another one.

6. Raspberry Lime Granita  

A granita is a coarser and heartier version of your standard Italian ice, and the raspberry lime flavor will transport you to spring all year round. This fresh and zingy granita is perfect as a palate cleanser or a light dessert.
